I LOVED the cactus metaphor as I am proudly prickly at times! I cannot believe that this is a debut novel – the author’s quality of writing was engrossing and captivating as we watched Susan’s journey unfold. And who doesn’t worry about losing control? Don’t we all feel that way, well, daily? This is an excellent book club pick as it will start so many conversations between mothers, want-to-be mothers and blissfully-childless women like me --- PLEASE WRITE ANOTHER BOOK!
