I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. From the publisher Rebecca wants to be happy, but it's going to take a little work. When she meets a new girl named Tara, she learns that the real secret to happiness is less about what you get, than about what you give. A beautiful book about the power of kindness and generosity.
Author/Illustrator Biographies: Gina was a preschool teacher for a number of years, and always especially looked forward to story time. Her love of children's books eventually led her to write her own. She currently lives in Denver with her husband and daughter, one dog, two cats and three chickens. Hayley is a graduate student at Arizona State University studying psychology. She has been deeply passionate about art since she was a young girl and hopes to go into art therapy when she graduates.
This is a nice little book to teach kids that possessions and owning things can not make you happy. In fact, in MY opinion, it may lead to a life full of selfies and whining because they didn't get the $300 brush kit from Kylie Jenner's makeup line. Storytime is HUGE in my home and work life and I cannot wait to read this book to the kids as it has such a powerful message that helping people can make you happy: in fact, a life filled with volunteering can make your heart sing!
