I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. From the publisher Create your very own cute and crafty party cakes--cake decorating designs from Lyndsay Sung, creator of Coco Cake Land. Make the cutest cakes in town with Coco Cake Land! With a colorful, vintage-meets-modern aesthetic that is inspired by kawaii cute, the thirty cake decorating projects in this book offer a fun and playful approach to making cakes that even novice decorators will be able to approach. The cakes in Coco Cake Land fall into two styles: the super cute and the pretty. You'll find blue bears, pink cats, pandas, and foxes, along with buttercream rosettes, drippy ganache, and rainbow layers. With base recipes for cakes and frostings, tutorials on decorative piping and creating fondant features, as well as instructions for crafty finishes like washi tape flags and paper toppers, this book has everything you need to create colorful, cute, and completely unique cakes.

I am going to say it - "My name is Janet and I am addicted to the Great British Bake Off, The Great Canadian Bake Off, and The Great American Bakeoff before it was yanked from the schedule due to MORE #metoo allegations against one of the judges"! The preface of this book was very interesting as the author has a vegan husband (whom she made a disastrous cake for whilst dating) and that she is a breast cancer survivor who now never takes anything for granted. Her step by step instructions and explanations of all the tools that you need will help any novice baker become a better baker than they ever dreamed of with explanations about crumb coats and how to deal with a pastry bag full of frosting. (I always have too warm hands and things melt left, right and center on me - my roses are disastrous! She then presents recipe after recipe (well photographed, too) of wonderful cakes to make with the recipes at the end of the book. There are even craft instructions for items to further decorate the cake with! I HAVE TO make the rainbow cake - she makes it look so easy even I am sure that I can bake and frost it like a pro. I may just have to toss my "Russian Cake Tips" and try to make some decor without them! Five solid shining stars!!!!
