I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. From the publisher - A Queen fights for her life. A King denies his heart and soul. A girl faces her true identity. All things must come to an end—all things but love. IN THE WINTER OF 1535, fourteen-year-old Kate Carey wants to escape her family home. She thinks her life will be so much better with Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII’s second wife and the aunt she idolizes. Little does Kate know that by going to attend Anne Boleyn she will discover love and a secret that will shake the very foundations of her identity. As an attendant to Anne Boleyn, Kate is swept up in events that see her witness her aunt’s darkest days. By the time winter ends, Kate will be changed forever.

As a lover of ALL THINGS TUDOR I completely devoured this book by staying up way too late to finish it. Henry VIII, in a dire attempt to get a male heir was at the beginning of his reign of terror in regards to this when he divorced Catherine of Aragon and married Boleyn. As evidenced by this book, Boelyn wasn't producing male heirs and Henry was mad to get rid of her. I guess that I never truly believed that Boleyn loved Henry until I read this book and saw it evidenced via the observation of the main character of this book, Boleyn's niece. Kate Carey. Although this is a YA book, I found that it was immensely enjoyable and highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Historical FIction or Philippa Gregory's Tudor/Plantagenet series. My only complaint was that the characters either seemed to be good or evil: no one was neutral in this telling and, well, also, because I knew the ending right from the beginning as it is history. :-)
