From the publisher -

BBQ, meet your match! Here’s the ultimate guide to a VBQ, a smoky, succulent, and entirely vegan alternative that will dazzle everyone. When it comes to barbecue, pulled pork and brisket might be the first things that come to mind, but meat-eaters aren’t the only ones who love to chow down on juicy burgers and crinkle-cut fries. Get your veggies prepped, grab your friends and family, and gather ’round the grill—it’s time for some Vegan BBQ!

From Peppered Tofu Steak to Eggplant Hot Dogs, the delicious, healthy, and cruelty-free recipes in VBQ—The Ultimate Vegan Barbecue Cookbook transforms the great American pastime of grilling into a veggie lover’s feast. Learn the secret to perfectly barbecuing veggies and plant-based products like tofu and tempeh and become a pro at the basics—how to maintain the perfect temperature, avoid too much smoke, light a barbecue (safely), and more as These fully illustrated, irresistible pages hold the secrets to the perfect techniques, tools, and ingredients that cover the whole spectrum of plant-based mainstays.

Then, get your charcoal fire going and indulge in countless innovative, mouthwatering recipes that cover the whole spectrum of veggie-focused BBQ mainstays like cauliflower steaks and pulled mushroom sandwiches, paired perfectly with essential condiments and sides like Crunchy Cole Slaw, Grilled Potato Salad, Cashew Sour Cream, and Crispy Potato Skins, on top of creative additions to the table including Eggplant Gyros, Grilled Avocado, Vietnamese Pizza, Tandoori Tofu Skewers, Stuffed Sweet Potatoes with Cashew Aioli & Fresh Sprouts, not to mention creative takes on BBQ favorites like hot dogs and gyros (hint: both made from eggplant)!, and more.

With 100 gorgeous photographs that tempt the taste buds and simple recipes perfect for a care-free, meat-free cookout, VBQ is sure to turn you into a vegan pit master in no time.

I hate packaged vegan hotdogs (and all kinds of over-processed, chemical laden “fake meats and cheeses”) but these recipes may make me rethink BBQ-ing for vegans. I do not know how a vegan can be gluten-free AND healthy, though, but that is just my opinion. The coleslaw and potato salad recipes were amazing to make and I took them to a Chrismukkah potluck where we needed vegan, kosher and halal food…no one was to the wiser. And I prepared them indoors on a panini press as I cannot have a barbeque in my building.

Having already bought (and loved) their “Eat This - Vegan Street Food” by the same authors,

I am so going to buy this book for myself and our “healthy food-meal prep” cookbook shelf at work. Great ideas for veggie-ful meals that anyone, even carnivores, can enjoy!!!
