I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. From the publisher -

Beautiful. Perfect. Dead.

In the peaceful seaside town of Cape Bonita, wicked secrets and lies are hidden just beneath the surface. But all it takes is one tragedy for them to be exposed. The most popular girls in school are turning up dead, and Penelope Malone is terrified she's next. All the victims so far have been linked to Penelope—and to a boy from her physics class. The one she's never really noticed before, with the rumored dark past and a brooding stare that cuts right through her. There's something he isn't telling her. But there's something she's not telling him, either. Everyone has secrets, and theirs might get them killed.

As someone whose entire middle-grade through high school years were an utter, living, bullying hell I had no problem with these nasty people in the book dying … but that is not the point of the story 😊

This is a great YA novel – nice and twisty and dark and can totally be enjoyed by an adult of any age. It is also a lesson in being nice to people who don’t fit the “cool stereotype” that you are exuding – that never changes whatever decade you are in. Social media makes it so bad that there are eleven year olds – ELEVEN YEAR OLDS – who are committing suicide because of bullying.

Yes, I almost, just almost, 31 years after highschool I STILL wish that the cheerleading squad, the football team and that Yearbook editorial went through even one of those deaths … or had just been nicer to us freaks and geeks.
