I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. From the publisher - Cooks and gardeners love combining basil, garlic, olive oil, nuts, and parmesan cheese. But why stop at basil? Author Olwen Woodier explores the full potential of herbal purées, sauces, and pastes by introducing other favorite herbs, including rosemary, mint, parsley, tarragon, and cilantro, and then moves beyond herbs to incorporate greens, chiles, and nuts in dozens of recipes for fresh sauces from around the globe. An additional 67 recipes show how to incorporate pestos into every meal of the day — even dessert!

I am going to be honest --- my first thought was 218 pages for PESTO?????? But this book works ... and very well! I was fascinated at the different flavour combinations and as I was at a Thai cooking class I actually had some "cinnamon basil" left over so whipped up a pesto that made dinner beyond compare. I cannot wait to try to make the coconut citrus cookies, either - what a great little book for anyone you know who cooks.
