From the publisher: Discover the joy of a flower-driven garden! For many gardeners, the low-key colors of the naturalistic gardening movement are just too quiet. Andy Vernon, a self-professed flower fanatic, is one of these gardeners. In The Flower- Powered Garden, he urges everyone to embrace one of the most joyful and important parts of a garden—color. The Flower-Powered Garden highlights perennials and annuals that pack a punch, and 15 color combinations that can be used in containers and gardens. The boisterous combinations are inspired by some of Vernon’s favorite things—like sherbet, budgies, and candy. A floripedia of 50 marvelous plants includes colorful favorites like dahlias, petunias, hollyhocks, fuchsias, and more. A section on growing details the basics of planting, watering, soil needs, and growing in containers.

I AM GOING TO ADMIT RIGHT OFF THE BAT --- I DO NOT GARDEN. I KILLED A SILK PLANT WHEN I LEFT IT IN THE WINDOW AND IT GOT WET AND MOLDED!!!

Why did I jump at the chance to read and review this book? (Thanks to NetGalley, Timber Press and Andy Vernon for that!) Because when I am not a librarian I am an artist AND I adore flowers. I live for flowers. My Instagram feed is clogged with them and my paintings are full of them. I got more ideas and colour scheme diagrams from this book than I can count!

Will gardeners love this book? Yes, yes, yes, and yes! (I have already put it on the list to order for two separate gardeners in my life once it is out in March of 2018 as I know that they will love it!) This book is great, just great -- not sure how many more synonyms I can think of ... buy it!!
