My 11-year-old nephew asked me to get this book and to review it himself so here we go --- (he is autistic so it may seem disjointed at times.
I usually hate vegetables too sometimes as I googled and with Aunt Janet's help I found out I was a "supertaster" I hate cilantro and everyone puts it in food these days. Since my mom and I moved to Japan it has been easy to avoid veggies as they are so expensive at the market. They had melons for sale that were like, $100 USD once you converted it from yen. I like sushi and it sometimes has veggies in it plus it is wrapped in seaweed, which is a veggie, and I like seaweed salad.
At the book's start, it has lots of ways to get kids to eat their veggies - reward charts and bribery are mentioned. I was given a plate of food at the table (I still am) and told to eat it as "mom wasn't running a restaurant". I finish it (i have no choice) but these recipes could have made it more FUN. She uses Expose, Explore and Expand (The 3 Es) to give suggestions on how to get more veggies into kids.
Miss Potack goes through many veggies, explaining them and then giving recipes for that particular veggie, everything from soups to desserts. I liked the asparagus house as I love asparagus and miss it here. I liked the beet "tattoos" as once I help Aunt Janet print quilting fabric with beets and the ends of bok choi.
I liked this book and I think moms of other kids who have picky eaters will like it.

From Aunt Janet --- Thank you to the author, publisher and NETGALLEY.COM for allowing me to read and review your book! As people who follow me know, I do not regurgitate what the book is about as the title and cover is usually a giveaway PLUS that is what the description from the author and publisher at the top of the pages where I post reviews are for. (Goodreads, Amazon. etc. )
