DISCLAIMER – I was a bride seven months ago and I admit: 1. There were 11 people in total at my wedding. Six of them were late as they were in the same van (we call it “Pole Time” after my former last name! 2. We went to a restaurant that had a small event buffet ($24.99 a person – cheap compared to their actually “wedding packages” tht started at $100/person! We went there to deal with the following allergies: seafood fish pork dairy cilantro and all kinds of parsley nuts coconuts dill penicillin (avoid the blue cheese!) sulphites …… should I mention that I, the bride, cannot digest beef (vs. an allergy) so I could not eat the star of the buffet … prime rib??? 3. Our table decorations were from Dollar Tree and cost $12+tax 4. My dress was under $100. 5. I got my engagement ring as a Christmas gift (in October as he was too excited to not give it to me right away!) and a “official” proposal to go with it at the park while feeding the ducks. NO Flash-mobs anywhere. It was not exactly an Instagrammable moment nor did it go on Pinterest. 6. Our engagement photos were $19 at Walmart as we had a groupon. 7. Our ceremony took less than 5 minutes 8. ZERO attendants or groomsmen 9. My dad could make a combination of a toast and a speech as long as it was under one minute as I had given him a maximum of 90 seconds 10. The bar bill was under $200. 11. Our photographers were our guests and not a single photo of us turned out --- all were blurry and under lit. Oh, well … I am too old to have kids so there would be no one to pass the photos on top anyways. 12. WE LOVED IT AND WOULD NOT HAVE HAD IT ANY OTHER WAY!

See? Blurry AF.

My niece is getting married next year --- it will be a cheese fest. I JUST KNOW this family --- 90% f the guests will be the family of the bride’s mother (my SILK), there will be 7billion professional photos, theme drinks, a dance, etc. and YOU GUESSED IT … a prime rib buffet. I am going to anonymously buy my niece this book on Amazon and have them ship it to her! Now … about the book 😊 I loved it. Freaking loved it … it shows you that you can HAVE IT YOUR WAY and do it beautifully! From rings to receptions this book is a god-send to every bride on the planet and they should read it before you take the plunge --- YOU ARE NOT A PRINCESS, HONEY, SO STOP ACTING LIKE ONE!!!! Thank you, Net Galley, The Author and The Publisher for the opportunity to review this book --- as people who follow me know, I do not regurgitate what the book is about as that is usually evident from the title and book jacket and what the description from the top of the page where my reviews end up (Amazon, Goodreads, etc.)
