DISCLAIMER --- I am not a vegan - I eat mostly vegetarian at home unless I am cycling through weeks on and off a ketogenic diet (ketogenic foods calms down my IBD and I do lose weight --- which comes back as soon as I start eating carbs ... even healthy carbs like my standbys of barley, quinoa and beans. There are pages and pages about the benefit of plant-based MEATS ... I do not understand how an over processed, highly changed, from its original form lab-created/lab-grown frankenfood can be better for us than a fish caught that day and bought at the market and cooked to one's liking. DItto taking tapioca and making it "cheese" vs. the locally made cheeses that are full of natural ingredients as well vs. manipulated plant matter that does not melt on my veggies. There is many mentioning of plant-based foods that are brands we cannot get in Canada, as well. Many good recipes took it from 3 stars to 4 ... but I would really give it 3.5/5 if I could. (less)

Thank you NetGalley for a peek and temporary download of this book! I had no idea about the content of this book but was not surprised that the title led me to a vegan cookbook.
